Pc Games in the World 2013

2013 is a strange year because, at least for now, there aren’t a huge number of games scheduled to come out after May. Until that happens, probably at E3 2013, we probably won’t hear much about next-generation multiplatform projects. PC-only games don’t need to be hidden like next-gen multiplatform games, though, so there’s still plenty to choose from even without full knowledge of what’s coming later in 2013. Below you’ll find ranked lists of what IGN’s PC editors, Anthony Gallegos and Charles Onyett, are looking forward to.

1. Company of Heroes 2

Company of Heroes 2 - 1st Top 10 Pc Video Game

Developer: Relic Entertainment

Publisher: Sega

Designer: Quinn Duffy

I’ve logged a pathetically large number of hours into the unique Company of Heroes. Its multiplayer is so tactically rich that I always feel challenge, but it’s just slow enough that I can keep up and feel competitive. With two new armies to learn, as well as a new movement that lastly tackle the Eastern Front of World War 2, this is easily my most unsurprising game of 2013.

2. Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock Infinite 2nd Top 10 Pc Video Game

Publisher: 2K Games

Developer: Irrational Games

A first person shooter set in 1912 where players assume the role of former Pinkerton agent Booker DeWitt, sent to the flying city of Columbia on a rescue mission. My goal for Bioshock Infinite is to go into it knowing as little as possible. With irrational returning to the franchise I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with in the last few years. I am ready to be blown away.

3. Dead Space 3

Dead Space 3 - 3rd Top 10 Pc Video Game

Developer: Visceral Games

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Dead Space and Dead Space 2 are some of my preferred games of the last five years. These games are the Alien and Aliens of the video game space; titles that take the sci-fi genre and make it terrifying. I’m a bit cynical about how scary it’ll be with a coop partner, but I need to see how Isaac’s story plays out.

Dead Space 3 delivers terror to our screens in less than 9 days. To help players prepare for the Necromorph plague, Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer, hand out some nifty tips on the developer’s blog. The backbone for playing the game like a pro is to remember that before Isaac Clarke was thrown into the role of bad-ass soldier, he was an engineer.

4. StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm

StarCraft II ,Heart of the Swarm 4th Top 10 Pc Video Game

Developer: Blizzard Entertainment

Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment

The expansion will include additional units and multiplayer changes from Wings of Liberty, as well as a continuing campaign focusing on the Zerg race. It will span approximately 20 missions and will be priced as an expansion set. Heart of the Swarm is currently slated for a release on March 12, 2013.While StarCraft II’s multiplayer is a bit more than I can handle, Blizzard has always made the best real-time strategy campaigns around. After getting to know Jim Raynor especially well in the last game, I can’t wait to find out what happens to him, Kerrigan and all the other characters I’ve been following for over a decade.

5. Tomb Raider

Tomb Raider 5th Top 10 Video Game

Developers: Core Design (1996–2003), Crystal Dynamics (2006–present)

Publishers: Eidos Interactive (1996–2009), Square Enix (2010–present)

I dabbled in the previous Tomb Raider games, but they were always a bit too silly to really hook me. Taking a note from the likes of Uncharted, the new Tomb Raider brings a much more grounded take on Lara Croft, showing us how she become the strong heroine we’ve known for years. Tomb Raider is a video game developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive. It was at first released for MS-DOS, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn. Tomb Raider follows the exploits of Lara Croft, an English female archaeologist in search of ancient treasures à la Indiana Jones. The game was seriously highly praised and widely influential. It spawned a number of sequels and a movie franchise.

6. SimCity

Simcity 6th top 10 PC Video Game

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Developer: Maxis

The game was first published in 1989 as SimCity, and it has spawned several different editions sold worldwide. The ongoing success of SimCity has also sparked the release of many other spin-off “Sim” titles, including 2000′s The Sims, the best-selling computer game up until the approximately 2012.

In SimCity, the player is given the task of founding and developing a city, while maintaining the happiness of the citizens and keeping a stable budget. In SimCity 2000, SimCity 3000 and SimCity 4, the player is allowed to alter the terrain of the city before building on it.

7. Double Fine Adventure

Double Fine Adventure 7th Top 10 Pc Video Game

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Developer: Maxis

Release Date: March 5, 2013

This is the game that started the video game Kickstarter revolution. As a backer, I can’t wait to see what Tim Schafer and the team at Double Fine creates. If it manages to capture the spirit of classic adventure games and have even half the humor of the ape Island permit I think I’ll be satisfied. In June 2011, Double Fine shipped the incredibly manly 3rd-person tower protection shooter Iron Brigade, (back then it was called Trenched) which scored a 9/10 review from Official Xbox Magazine. It is available for download on Xbox 360 and PC (Steam).

8. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs

Amnesia, A Machine for Pigs 8th Top 10 Pc Video Game

Developer: The Chinese room

Publisher: Frictional Games

Horror sequel, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, has a new and suitably unheimlich trailer, showing off the game’s gloomy Victorian locales and the terrible contraption which lie beneath them. A Machine for Pigs is the follow-up to Frictional Games’ indie classic, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, though this time development is helmed by The Chinese Room, makers of Dear Esther. It’s not a as the crow flies continuation from the last Amnesia game, either – the story takes place sixty years later, on the eve of the 20th century, and swaps the dank confines of the Prussian Brennenburg Castle for the smoggy streets of London.

9. 0x10c

0x10c 9th Top 10 Pc Video Game

Developer: Mojang

Designer: Markus “Notch” Persson

Minecraft became an obsession of mine, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that I’m anxiously awaiting the next game from its creator, Markus “Notch” Persson. All I know is that it involves space ship management, and with that I’m already ready to throw my money at whatever 0x10c turns out to be. In a parallel universe where the room race never ended, space travel was gaining popularity amongst corporations and rich individuals. In 1988, a brand new deep sleep cell was released, compatible with all popular 16 bit computers. Unluckily, it used big endian, whereas the DCPU-16 stipulation called for little endian. This led to a severe bug in the included drivers, causing a requested sleep of 0×0000 0000 0000 0001 years to last for 0×0001 0000 0000 0000 years. It’s now the year 281 474 976 712 644 AD, and the first lost people are starting to wake up to a universe on the brink of extinction, with all remote galaxies forever lost to red shift, star formation long since ended, and massive black holes dominating the galaxy.

10. Space Hulk

Space Hulk 10th Top 10 Pc Video Game
